C., FRIDAY, JUNE 20, 1941 Dramatic Course Postponed Until Next Friday Night The course in dramatics spon sored by the Community Players .which was to begin tonight, has been postponed until Friday night, June 27th, on account of a conflict in engagements of the instructor. All those interested in taking this course under Miss Hazel Abbott, head of the Converse College Dramatic Department should com municate with M,arcus Nash the secretary, John G. Landrum or any member of the Community Players. Polk County Goes Over Top In United Service Funds Chairman Carroll P. Rogers and Treasurer Julian B. Hester re port that Polk County went over the top this morning in complet ing the drive for funds for the United Service Organizations which is supplying the money for the Y. M. C. A., Catholic, Jewish, Protestant and Travelers Aid in their welfare and recreational work with the soldiers and sailors. The quota for Polk County in the $11,000,000 asked was S3OO. The amount raised was $329.65 and jndicates that some of the money included nickels and dimes as well as dollars. Mr. Hester said the committee wishes to thank all those con nected with the drive for their splendid cooperation and genero sity.
