PLACACK AT ROTARY Dr. Joseph Placack, Jr., of Cleveland, Ohio, was the guest speaker at the Tryon Rotary Club on Friday noon. Dr. Pla cack outlined some of the ac tivities of the medical profession in checking disease of men before they get into the army. Douglas Blois had charge of the program. Dr. Placack, who is a prominent surgeon and professor at Western •iserve University, has bought a ack of land here and is making plans to build his permanent home at the foot of Skyuka Mountain. KIWANIS TUESDAY County Agent J. A. Wilson will be in charge of the Tryon Kiwanis club program on Tuesday at 1 p. m., at Hotel Tryon. Mrs. Frank Kennedy, nee Mary Sayre, has returned to Blooming ton, Ind., after a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Sayre. She was accompanied by Miss Helen Morgan who will vis t her sister, Mr§. William Rockhill, at Fort Wayne, Ind. Enroute West they visited Mr. and Mrs. Sidney S&yre at Kingsport, Tenn.
