C., SATURDAY, JUNE 28, 1941 Piedmont Scout Camp Enjoying Record Week Scout Executive R. M. Schiele, director of the Piedmont Boy Scout Camp at Lake Lanier reports that the camp has enjoyed a record week with more than 200 Scouts and leaders in attendance. With the enlargement of the Camp more than 200 are expected at the camp each week for the remainder of the summer. This week Troops 2, 5 and 7 of Kings Mountain; Troops 2 and 4 of Mooresville; Troop 2 of Lincolnton; Troop 1 Catawba; Troop 1 of Valdese; Troop 6 Gas tonia and Troop 1 of Stony Point are in attendance at the camp as well as a provisional Camp Troop made up of Scouts from various sections who are staying at the camp for a longer period of time than their regular Troops. Among the various Troop lead ers at the camp this week are Rev. O. B. Mitchell, of Valdese; Rev. H. G. Fisher of Kings Mountain; Rev. James P. Hornbuckle of Stony Point 'and Franklin R. Jones, min isterial student of Catawba. BETSY JANE ROSS The four-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tolly Ross, Betsy Jane Ross, died Friday afternoon at the Saluda hospital after sev eral weeks' illness. Funeral ser vices will be held Sunday after noon at 2 o'clock at the McFar land Funeral Home with the Rev. B. G. Henry, officiating.
