C., SATURDAY, JULY 5, 1941 Quiet At Lake Lanier The Property Owners Associa tion of Lake Lanier met on Thursday, July 3rd, with Sheriff Homer Beardon of Greenville County. The sheriff stated that the facilities of his office are being used to supervise and patrol the lake region. C. E. Scoggins, former deputy sheriff of Polk County, is on active duty there. Ernest Kerhulas who recently took over Lake Lanier Inn prop erty has opened the docks for swimming and boating and has a life guard in charge. Harkness Smith says, “With the cooperation of the owners of the lake property. Lake Lanier will take its rightful place as one of the most beautiful residential sections of South Caro lina, and will afford recreational facilities unsurpassed in this part of the country.” GOLF RESULTS The first day’s results of the annual Fourth of July tourna ment at the Tryon Country Club are as follows: First flight: E.
