C., SATURDAY, JULY 12, 1941 COUNTY AFFAIRS It was announced today by a spokesman for the Polk County Commissioners: “At the request of the Polk County Commissioners Kenneth Melton has resigned as Polk County Game Protector.” Mr. Melton will remain as a deputy sheriff of Polk County for the present. He has been game protector for only a few days. It jvas further stated that a game protector will be named within a few days. JOHN STYLES - John Styles, 60, of Tryon, died Friday night at his home in Soumerco after a heart illness of several years. Funeral arrang ments had not been completed at press time. The deceased is sur vived by his wife and several children. He was a native of Wayne County, but had made his heme here for sometime, and was formerly an employee of the Southern Mercerizing Company.
