Colbron of Jackson’s Hole, Wyoming, who are guests at Mill Farm, plan to make I their home in Pclk County. They ' are buying a tract of land from Joe Tallent, near the Irving Day property below Columbus. There are five members of the Colbron family. Miss Rosemary Wilson, now at Three Bar Ranch, Moose, Wyoming; William Wilson at Moran, Wyoming and Miss Bar bara Colbron at New Canaan, Conn. Miss Colbron is the assis tant dean at Bryn Mawr. C., WED., JULY 16, 1941 1,200 Attend Picnic Os Federation Columbus, July 15.—An all day rain did not daunt the crowd of more than 1,200 persons who attended the annual Farmers’ fed eration Polk County picnic at the courthouse here Tuesday. The meeting was one of the largest ever held here. James G. K. McClure, president of the federation, told the assembl ed farm families that the federa tion is the only cooperative which places its main emphasis on quali ty and obtaining markets of farm produce. “The Farmers’ federation,” he said “is trying to increase and build up income on every farm in this county. It is constantly working to develop programs which will improve the farms of Polk County. “Quality is the great thing we must strive for. We must get quality in our crops, cur livestock and our poultry. And most im portant of all we must put qual ity into our own lives.” James R. Trowbridge, chair man of the Polk County farm im provement contest committee, an nounced that 51 families are par ticipating this year. The contest is sponsored by the Farmers’ federation in cooperation with the government agencies connected with agriculture. A large group of musical per formers tock part in the enter tainment program.
