C., WED., JULY 23, 1941 Special Meeting In connection with the alumin um collection week drive, there will be a special meeting of all “•v Boy Scouts tonight in Dr. Will JlMcCall’s office at 7:30 p. m. Ali Stouts are requested to be pres ent. Rotary Friday John L. Brown will have charge of the program at the weekly meeting of the Tryon Rotary Club at 1 p. m., Friday at Sunnydale. Softball Results The Kilowatters won a double header softball game at Harmon Field on Tuesday from the Bird Hunters. In the first game the Kilowatters shut-out the Hunters 8-0. In the second game they again defeated the Bird Hunters by a score of 13-4. Q( Molly Morris Circle The Molly Morris Circle of the Methodist church sponsored a games party last night at the Lake Lanier Tea Room. Approxi mately 50 persons enjoyed the games and prizes were awarded for attendance. Mrs. N. R. Rec tor, Jr., and Mrs. L. C. Reynolds were in charge of the affair. Circle to Meet The Business Woman’s Circle will meet at the home of Mrs. G. D. Cooksey Thursday evening at 8 o’clock. Mrs. Robert McFar land will be in charge of program. 4-H Club Members On Week's Vacation The Polk County 4-H club mem bers elft for the 4-H camp at White Lake early Monday morn ing. While away, the campers will visit Wilmington and the beach and will spend one day at Fort Bragg. They went by trucks and were accompanied by home agent Miss Minnie Lee Garrison; assis tant agent and Mrs. S. H. Dob son. They are occupying the White Lake Camp jointly with the Rutherford county group and are making the trip down and back together. The trip is made possible to many of the members by achieve ment awards of the Tryon Ki wanis club and prizes given by the Tryon Rotary club. For sev eral years the club members have been attending the Swannanoa camp and it is through the inter est and help given by the Kiwanis and Rotary clubs that this trip to the Eastern part of the state is made possible. Donkey Baseball It’s donkey baseball time again in Tryon. This afternoon at 6:30 at the Adams-Millis ball park, the Business Men of Tryon will battle atop donkeys with the Adams- Millis ball team. From previous donkey baseball games have come many spills and laughs, and the one this afternoon should prove to be just as much, if net more fun than. ever. Climax your holiday afternoon at the Donkey Baseball Game.
