Est. 1-31-28 Mrs. May Baird, of Philadelphia Dies In Tryon Mrs. May Charlotte Baird, 45, j „daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry J Cfceich of Trycn, died in the local P-iTospital Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Baird came to Tryon for a visit about five weeks ago from Philadelphia, where she resided, and became ill. She was born in Pennsylvania, but came to Tryon with her parents and spent her childhood here. She was a gradu ate cf Weaver college and had I been teaching. Survivors include her parents, her husband, Phil Baird, one son, Robert; two broth ers, Henrv Reich, of Bay Pines, Fla.; and Fred Reich of Cincinnati. Funeral services will be held at the Tryon Methodist church today at 3:30 p. m. (EDT), with the paster, the Rev. George M. j Schreyer, officiating. Interment } will be in Tryon cemetery. Pall- , bearers will be D. A. Shields, Fred I l?vwann, L. F. Puchanan, M C. f sutler, L. C. Reynolds, Leland Sutler. Honorary pallbearers will be: Henry Acker, Dwight Sfaiith, N. R 'Rector, Sr., and P. G. Morris. Davidson Dairy Sells Out Davidson Dairv, operated for years by Mr. and Mrs. Crawford Davidson has closed out on ac count of Mrs. Davidson’s failing health. The cows have been sold to Littlefie’d of Landrum and the dairy plant and equipment will be sold elsewhere. McCown’s 1 monthly report of the Tryon Fed eral Savings & Loan Association published in today’s Bulletin shows a healthy growth over last month which as usual was an increase over the preceeding month. The total assets jumped from $319,- 625.27 to $327,673.05, an increase of $8,047.78. The total private investments increased during the month from $249,509.30 to $269,- 098.07, an increase ,of $19,588.77. Dicks Buy Schoff House Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dick have purchased Miss Gertrude Sthoff’s house cn Asheville road at the intersection of Warrior road. Mr. I and Mrs. Dick have been occupy i ing the house for over a year. i - ADAMS-MILLIS DROPS | CLOSE ONE On Saturdav afternoon Adams- Millis baseball team dropped close game to Enka at the Adams-Millis ball park by the score of 5 to 4. This game was bard played and went 11 innings. Adams-Millis had many scoring chances but failed to hit when hits were need ed. Culler o - Tryon hit a home run. The battery for Adams- Millis was Ward, Thompson, and Arledge, Capps. Blind Bogey Winners C. H. Helms, Dick Taylor and Bob Leighton were the winners in the Blind Bogey golf tourna ment at the Tryon Country, club during the weekend.
