white people w.ll lose their prop
erty, too, but we emphasized the
colored because we have over 100
colored subscribers to the Bulle
tin who don’t take The Polk Coun

will cost the taxpayer. There are
39 white and 76 negroes who
haven’t paid their taxes. This is
just written to encourage those
who can, to pay their taxes this
month ..... Ten per cent less
gasoline will be distributed to
dealers and pleasure cars are ex
pected to be cut 20 per cent.
Rev. and Mrs. B. G. Henry and
children are at Davidson, N. C.,
where they went to the bedside of
Mrs. Henry’s father, who is se
riously ill. A visiting- minister
from Raleigh will preach at the
Baptist church here.
