Tryon High 13;
Jnman High 0
-Ip'he Tryon high Tigers, sparked
by Captain Jack Melton, put on
the pressure during the second
half and overcame a scrappy team
from Inman by a 13 to 0 score.
The two teams were evenly match
ed during the first half of the
game but the superiority of the
local boys in the air lanes and
around the ends proved the margin
of victory. Melton made the first
touchdown after a beautiful end
run had put the ball in scoring
posit on. Wad bucked the extra
point over. The final touchdown
was made when Wall caught a
pass tossed by Edward Beatson
who incidentally did some excellent
passing.
The Tryon team playing for
the first time under their new
t>nch, Ed Beach, a former Uni
up well and will furnish the fans
with plenty of football before the
season is over. The players in
suite of the heat were in fine con
dition. In the line the play of
Locke McGeachy stood out on
defense while in the backfield the
running of Melton and the pass
ing of Beatson were outstanding.
On next Friday, September 26,
Black Mountain will be the op
ponents with the game being
plaved at Tryon.
