October 7th Date Set For
School of Religion
The first session of the Tryon
Inter-Church School of Religion
will be held in the Church of the
Holy Cross on Tuesday evening,
October 7th. This year, each ses
sion will commence at 7:45 p. m.,
instead of at 7:30 as in previous

Tryon Gridders Ready to
Tackle Black Mountain
The Trycn high gridders will
tackle the tough Black Mountain
team on Friday, Sept. 26th, at
Harmon Field beginning at 3:30.
The visitors are playing for their
first time in Tryon and are bring
ing a fast team to play the locals.
The Tryon boys will be in good
shape for the contest with the
exception of Captain Jack Melton,
who received a leg injury during
practice this week. Several chang
es have been made by Coach
Beach in the team and from all
indications the visitors will be
given a warm reception.
The Tryon squad has been great
ly increased over last week and

Mize-Marshall Wedding
The wedding of Mr. James
Wesley Mize, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Miss Betty Marshall, daughter of
