Est. 1-31-28 TRYON, N C., TUESDAY, DEC. 23; 1941 Public Installation of Masonic Officers on January sth W. E. Kilpin, Master-Elect of L. Nelson Lodge No. 605, A. & A. M., has announced the frames and appointive offices to complete the officer personnel of the Ledge for the ensuing year: Senior Deacon, E. B. Cawthray. Junior Deacon, Lespie Barnette. Senior Steward, Fred Wofford. Junior Steward, R. Holland Brady. Tiler, Ernest Kerhulas. Lecturer, George E. Bell. Oxford Orphanage committee: C. A. Martin, Thomas Costa and J. A. Wilson. All the officers both elected and appointive will be installed at a public ceremony to be held in the Parish House on Monday, January sth, at 8 p. m., by the Deputy Grand Master of Masons of North Carolina, James E. Shipman, as sisted by the District Deputy Master, Leon English, of Wevard. It is especially requested that all those desiring to witness this impressive ceremony will please be seated in the Parish House before 8 o’clock, as after the cere monies begin, it will be impossible to seat late arrivals. Basket For Hospital Anyone desiring to contribute gifts for the St. Luke’s hospital basket which is presented each year by the Women of the Congre gational church, may leave the gift at Jackson’s store on Wednesday morning as the basket will be packed on Wednesday afternoon. $2.00 PER YEAR PIC CURB REPORTER The Community Singing sched uled for Christmas Eve will be cancelled if it continues to rain as it has today. The weather Monday wa s 54 high; 34 low; for Sunday 60 and 30; Saturday 66 and 42 ... . . Baylis Ray Swain has written to his family since the Pearl Harbor bombing and re ports that he is O. K. The same good report has been received by Mrs. R. B. Williams from Ray Williams at Honolulu. He is on the U. S. S. Dobbin. Frank Wall, Try on high school football player, has joined the Marines and is> now at Paris Island, S. C., base . . . The Auberge will serve dinner on Christmas Eve at 7 o’clock and on Christmas Day at 1:30. The price is $1.50 instead of the price advertised yesterday Tryon Bank & Trust Co., will observe Dec. 25 and 26 as holidays this week. . . . Tryon basketball team and former players home from col_ lege are expected to give a per formance during the holidays at Tryon gym. .... If your old magazines get in the way during the holidays it would be a good time to gather them up and leave them at the Bulletin office for Major Sharp’s rural project . . . .
