Accord ingly a petition was sent to the Mayor and the Council, and at this meeting on Monday the fol lowing resolution was passed: RESOLUTION Whereas it is desirable to make the town of Tryon a bird sanct uary, and this Council has been asked to lend its support to the same; Now therefore, be it resolved: — 1. That the entire municipal area of Tryon be declared a bird sanctuary. 2. That within the town limits it shall be illegal to kill any wild bird except hawks, blue jays and starlings, 9 f any bird’s * nest. fj x 3. That? permission be granted +-uUie nfambers of the N. C. Already we have more than a beginning for a Bird Club that cculd be affliated with the State Club. Baker, Nelson Jackson, Jr., Dr. Will McCall. Peeler Rites Funeral services for John F. Peeler who died Friday evening were held on Monday afternoon at the Tmn Methodist church con ducted Toy the Rev.
