Soldiers Here Again!
The people of Tryon will again

The bus will arrive at the lo
cal bus station at 12:15, and all
who are entertaining these men
are requested to be present and
pick up their guests.

Missildine’s.
The Parish House will be open
from 3:30 until the departure of
the bus. Entertainment at the Pa
rish House will be in charge of
Mrs. Nelson Jackson, Jr., and the
devotional service will be in
charge of Rev. Charles G. Sew

Mrs. Ferree Teaches at Lynn |
Due to the resignation of Miss j
Bessie J. Helton, Mrs. May F. J
Ferree has been selected to fin
ish out the school term in the
Lynn school. Mrs. Ferree has had
wide experience as a teacher, hav
ing taught in the High Point
schools and for several years in
the Tryon Graded school. Last
year she served as overflew tea
cher for the Fourth and Fifth
Grades at Tryon.
Supt. M. B. Caldwell was high
in praise of Mrs. Ferree’s ability.
Lane aster-Lockhart
Miss Ruth Elizabeth Lockhart,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P.
Lockhart cf Tryon, and Mr. Clyde
Elsworth Lancaster, son of Mr.
and Mrs. J. C. Lancaster of
Springton, West Virginia, were
married at 4 o’clock on Sunday
afternoon at the home cf the'
bride’s parents. Dr. E. E. Bo
mar, performed the double ring
ceremony. Music for the occasion
was played by Miss Betty Thom
as of Saluda, viclinst and Mrs.
Walter Jones, pianist, of Tryon.
They played “Oh, Promise. Me,”
“I Love You Truly”, “At Dawn
ing”, and Lohengrin’s “The Bri
dal Chorus”.
Miss Mary D. Lockhart, sister
of the bride was maid of honor.
Mr. Q. W. Hodges of Greenbay,
Va. was best man.
The bride was dressed in blue
velvet with matching accessories,
and wore a single orchid corsage.
The maid of honor wore an
aqua crepe dress with black ac
cessories, and had a corsage of
pink rosebuds.
Immediately following the cere
mony the wedding cake was cut
by the bride and groom. Refresh
ments were served and the couple
left for a ten days honeymoon.
The bride was graduated from
Try on High school, attended Bre
vard college, and for the past few
years has been a secretary in
the office of the Town of Tryon.
The bridegroom was educated
at Matoaka Senoir school, studied
mechanics in Boston; later was
connected with the Copperas Coal
company. He is now in the U. S.
Army and is stationed at Camp
Croft.
