MARCH 3, 1942 COMMUNICATIONS Dear Mr. Vining, j^er can the Tryon friends the great depth of friend ship existing between them and us! Our life over night was changed from a warm, peace-loving fellow ship into a hard, cold, routine Army way of living. Of course, it is a high privilege to be se lected to serve one's country, and it is only the determination to save our Democracy and our homes that could, ever cause a Minister of God to go onto the battle field. Please say to all our many friends that we greatly appre ciate their acts of kindnesses, their many letters, and their much needed prayers, v May God bless this land of ours —may friends once again meet somewhere, somehow;.
