G. Isham Henderson, C. H. Helms.
Mrs. Slchiele served as secretary.
A group of Tryon Cubs were
oresent in the absence of their
Cubmaster Rev. C. L. McGavern,
who is in New York. A group of
Saluda boys and Mr. Herbert, who
are interested in Scout work were
present to discuss plans for form
ing a troop in Saluda.

Four new tenderfoot Scouts
were admitted as follows: Donald
Allison, Richard Blackwell, Ned
Bradshaw and Paul Blackwell.
Advanced in Safety were-Fred
Eargle and Donald Arledge.
Awards of previous courts were
presented. The meeting closed
with the Indian benediction, “Our
heavenly Father, put sunshine in
our hearts now and in the future,
very much.”
MRS. D, W. PACE
Mrs. Daniel W. Pace, 51, of
Saluda, died Monday night about
10 o’clock at her home. Funeral
services will be held on Wednes
day at Friendship church near
Saluda at 3 p. m. Rev. M. A.
Kiser officiating. The deceased is
survived by her husband and one
daughter, Mrs. B. I. Lands, Inman.
Speigle Rites In Burke
Burial services for Mrs. J. L.
Speigle, who died here on Mon
day morning, will be held Wed
nesday at Snow Hill church in
Burke county.
A funeral service will be held
in Tryon at the Presbyterian
church on Wednesday morning at
11 o’clock conducted by the Rev.
D. M. McGeachy.
MISS SARAH PUTNAM
Miss Sarah A. Putnam died Fri
day in Baltimore. Interment ar
Holden, Mass. She was a fre
quent visitor to Tryon for several
years and had many friends here.
MRS. A. L. FRASER
News has been received in Try
on of the death of Mrs. A. L.
Fraser on Monday morning at
Lake Worth, Fla. Funeral ser
vices will be held Wednesday. Mrs.
Fraser made her home in Tryon
for many years and was the build
er of three houses, the first being
Rosemont, now owned by the
Misses Edith and Elizabeth Allen,
the second owned by Mr. and
Mrs. A. C. Sloss in Gillette Woods
and the third now owned by Mrs.
D. C. Brundage. Mrs. Fraser is
survived by one son, Hume Fraser,
also of Lake Worth.
