Dear Mr. Vining:
appreciate the copies of The
letin which I have been able to
receive. The news of the Tryon
people have been interesting to me.
However, due to the fact that I
shall be moving for months to
come rather fast, and never be
ing able to know just when or
where, I think it best to discon
tinue the subscription. On May
16, I must be in Washington, from
there perhaps back here or per
haps somewhere else.
This one thing I do wish you
would print in your column, be
cause I am sure it will be of in
terest to many Tryon people. I
count it a modern miracle that
in all the Army camps and Forts,
in all the Divisions, etc., of Army
routine, Tom Greene would come
to Camp Claiborne, be in the same
Qurision, the same Infantry with
Our companies, however are
afferent. And to. quote Tom’s own
words to show that it is the same
Tom Tryon knew: (from the letter
received May 5) : “If you are here,
let me know if it is all right for
me to go to see you or you come
by here. I’ll not forget that I am
a private and you are an officer
if you come by to see me.” {
Enclosed is the payment. Thank
you for all past courtesies, and I
wish for you continued success
in your business. Tryon is a most
wonderful place to live in, and to
be from.
