SUGAR RATIONING
Those desiring sugar for home
canning need apply only a week
or ten days before they are ready
to use the sugar. Application
should be made to the nearest of

Sunny View: Mrs. Joe Miller at
her home.
Green’s Creek: S. L. Fagan at
Fagan’s store.
Saluda: Theodore Jones, at home'
Tryon: Rationing Board office,
Mondays 9 a. m., to 12 noon; and
Thursdays 2 p. m., to 5 p. m.
The applicant must certify that
the sugar will be used only for
home canning purposes. The ap
plicant must bring the ration
books for the complete family unit.
The amount of sugar allowed for
home canning is five (5) pounds
per person per year.
Extract from Stagar Rationing
Regulations:
A consumer who eats twelve
Jjr more meals per week in a
-■’boarding hou^e, hotel, restaurant,
hospital, etc., must surrender his
War Ration Book to the manager
of the establishment. The War
Ration Book shall he returned to
the consumer when he ceases to
eat twelve meals per week at the
establishment. At the time of re
turn, stamps for the ration per
iods that expired while consume!
ate at the establishment, shall be
detached by the manager of the
establishment and surrendered by
him for cancellation at the Local
Rationing Board.”
