hounds southeast had to offer. This
show will be an inspiration to those

die’ spirit to say ‘keep ’em run

Second Primary June 27th
Chairman Baisden of the Polk
County Election Board has an
nounced that a second Democratic
primary will be held Saturday,
June 27th, to decide the Demo
cratic nominaiton for sheriff of
Polk County.
In the first primary W. D.
Hines received 1,018 and W. Y.
Wilkins 795; the low man, Hague
Kiser, received 496. If all the
Hines and Wilkins supporters vote
the same way again Hines will
have 223 votes more than Wilkins
and the battle will he made to see
how the 496 Kiser supporters will
vote. Granting that everybody
votes the same, Wilkins will liave
to get nearly three-fourths of the
Kiser vote to win (1,167 to 1,142).
If Hines can hold his own and
get just one-third of the Kiser
votes, he will win (1,183 to 1,126).

Miss Dorothy Rose Durham and
Mr. John Dean Jones were mar
ried in Spartanburg1 Tuesday,
June 2. They will make their
home in Tryon.
The regular meeting of the Jeff
L. Nelson Masonic lodge will be
held Monday, June 8th, at 8 o’clock
at Missildine’s Hall.
