SINGLETON GREEN Mrs. Clelan(] Singleton Green, 65, wife of Singleton Green of Hendersonville, and for many years a resident of Tryon, died Monday night at St. Luke’s hos pital. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Sheppard Funeral home at Hendersonville. The body will be taken to Columbia, on Wednesday for interment. Swimming for Soldiers The forty soldiers coming to Tryon from Camp Croft next .Sun day have been asked to bring their bathing suits and take advantage of the opportunity to go swimming in Lake Lanier. There will be no scheduled program at the Parish House, but those not caring to go swimming may go to the Parish house after 3 o’clock and play ping pong, darts or other games with groups of friends. Hosts and hostesses are asked to call for their soldier guests at the bus station at 11:25 Sunday noon. Mrs. F. P. Bacon, chairman of the reservation committee states that, there are a few more soldiers available for those caring to en tertain one or more at Sunday dinner. Donations for transpor tation may be left with Tom Collum at Missildine’s. Cash income from farm mark etings in April for the entire country totaled $973,000,000.00, or 40 per cent higher than the $005,000,000.00 received in April of last year.
