COMMUNICATIONS
Mrs. James R. Trowbridge,
Chairman Flag Committee,
Tryon, N. C.
Dear Mrs. Trowbridge:
Please accept my apology for
the failure to send a message of
congratulations \as suggested in
connection with the presentation
of the Flags of the United Na
tions to the Town of Tryon. This
is a most excellent idea and I
would have been happy to com
mend it. My secretary did not feel
at liberty to compose a message
in my absence. I was in the
country in North Carolina taking
a little rest and he could not
reach me.
I am very grateful for the vote
I received in Tryon and also in
Polk County,—1,562 as against 569.
With all good wishes,
Very truly yours,
J. W. Bailey.
