HEROES DAY HERE
Friday was Heroes Day. Tryon
business people celebrated the
event by the purchase of $9,625
worth of War Bonds. The amount
of War Stamps sold was not

Asheville parade stopped by Tryon
Fridav afternoon and were enter
tained by a local committee which
greeted them with refreshments.
The soldiers who were in four
motor vehicles gave a demonstra
tion of their equipment anc^ toow
several members of the committee
for a ride in a jeep. Chairman
Julian Hester reports that Polk
County has sold $22,000 worth of
bonds and needs to sell $6,000
more to meet the quota of $(18,700
! asked of us.
