The buffet supper given by the
Home Friendly club at the home
of Mrs. G. L. Canfield on Thurs
day evening for the benefit of
the men and women in service,

SALUDA SCHOOL OPENS
ON AUGUST 27TH
Saluda, Aug. 12.—The Saluda
school will open August 27, with
few changes in the faculty, it has
been announced by Principal J. G.
Michael. Miss Catherine Ander
son, of Mars Hill has been elect
ed to fill the vacancy in the sixth
grade. The high school vacancy is
yet to be filled.

sonville will fill the pulpit at the
Tryon First Baptist church on
Sunday morning at 11 o’clock and
at the Lynn Baptist church on
Sunday night at 8 o’clock.
TAXI SERVICE CHANGED
The Supreme Service Station
Taxi which has been operating on
Sundays at the bus station, has
been changed to the Tryon Cafe
for Sunday service only. The phone
there is 233. On other days dur
ing the week the taxi will operate
at the Supreme Service Station
as usual.
RUCKIUS PLACE SOLD
Mrs. S. Lee Spurdle of New
Jersey has bought the E. O. Buck
ius place from Mrs. E. E. Dunn.
