Operators are caution ed against continuing to use tires that have reached the recap stage. It is much better to lay up trucks for a few days in order to recap a tire rather than run the risk of ruining the carcass, and thus make themselves ineligible for new tires.” While the number of passenger recaps is an increase over previous quotas, the November quota will only permit the Board to take care of the estimated eligible ap plications to prevent the running of carcasses past the recapping stage. Following is a list of those eligible to make application for tires: ^jassenger cars—(A-a) Doctors, iBs, Vets. ^^L-b) Ministers. (A-b-3) Police. (A-d-5) Rural mail carriers. (B-a-1) Taxis. On a recent 24 hour stay in London he saw Westminster Abbey, St. James Palace, Buckingham Palace, Thames River, London Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral. He climbed to the top of the Cathedral and saw London Tower and other land marks. He got an idea of what the Germans had done. He said facts and figures prove that one is safer in England during a ter rific bombardment than in the U. .JL.on the highways during normal times. He thinks England is proof against invasion.
