J. H. Gibbs Re-Appointed
To Polk Draft Board
Polk County Local Board No.
1, Selective Service System, is
pleased to announce that Mr. J. H.
Gibbs, who resigned some time j
ago as board member due to fail
ing health, is now much improved i
and, at the insistance of many
Polk County citizens and the
other members of the board, has
bj^^ re-appointed as a member
oflK board.
Mr. Gibbs has rendered his coun
ty and country unselfish, capable,
and loyal service in the past. The
fact that he is again willing to
serve demonstrates his patriotism
and loyalty to his country and the
cause of all free men. The duties
of a board member are not easy
and the trials are many, but a
job well done is its own reward.
Union Thanksgiving Service
Thursday At 10 O’clock
The annual Thanksgiving ser
vice of Tryon churches will be held
Thursday morning at 10 o’clock at
the Presbyterian church. Dr. Chas.
G. Sewall will preach the sermon.
