ONE OF THE BUSIEST
PLACES IN TOWN !
The Red Cross sewing rooms,
one of the busiest places in town,
goes steadily about its work of
cutting, basting, and sewing,
without often letting it be known
just how much is accomplished.
Last week 9 boxes of finished
clothing and kit bags were ship
ped. These are large boxes, and
represent many hours of work
tirelessly given.
This chapter has a quota of 400
kit bags to fill—200 of these have
been shipped to date. These bags,
sent direct to embarkation ports,
are given to the men as they
leave the country for over-seas
duty. It is hoped that the neces
sary funds to fill the other 200
bags will be shortly donated. One
dollar fills a bag with cigarettes,
candy, shaving cream, tooth paste,
a detective story, etc. The bags
are made by the local work
rooms, and YOUR contribution
of a dollar or more fills them.
Anyone wishing to make a dona
tion can send it to Mrs. Sharp,
or leave at the desk in the work
rooms. Kindly mark check “For
Kit Bags.”
