The Red Cross sewing rooms, one of the busiest places in town, goes steadily about its work of cutting, basting, and sewing, without often letting it be known just how much is accomplished. Last week 9 boxes of finished clothing and kit bags were ship ped. These are large boxes, and represent many hours of work tirelessly given. This chapter has a quota of 400 kit bags to fill—200 of these have been shipped to date. These bags, sent direct to embarkation ports, are given to the men as they leave the country for over-seas duty. It is hoped that the neces sary funds to fill the other 200 bags will be shortly donated. One dollar fills a bag with cigarettes, candy, shaving cream, tooth paste, a detective story, etc. The bags are made by the local work rooms, and YOUR contribution of a dollar or more fills them. Anyone wishing to make a dona tion can send it to Mrs. Sharp, or leave at the desk in the work rooms.
