WEBB, 25, LYNN RESIDENT FATALLY HURT IN AUTO WRECK Mrs. Annabella Webb, 25, jjtohter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie ^^Fall of Lynn, was fatally in jured in an automobile accident late Saturday night on the Ashe ville-Sipartanburg highway about a mile and a half from Tryon near the rock cut. Humey Wolfe, said to have been the driver of the machine, receiv ed injuries which were treated at St. Luke’s hospital. He left after treatment. Miss Lillian McFall, cousin of Mrs. Webb and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rans McFall, also of Lynn, received serious injuries in the accident. She remained at St. Luke’s hospital in Tryon. Her condition was reported serious. Palmer Newman, who was in the party, escaped serious injury. Katherine McFall, sister of Mrs. «, also escaped injury. cers who investigated the ac t said Wolfe, who is also of Lynn and employed in Lyman, S. C.. said that someone who was riding in the back seat of the car lighted a cigarette and that the glare from the match blinded him causing him to lose control of the car. It hit a telephone pole. The automobile was demolished. Sheriff W. D. Hines and Depu ties, Melton and Cochran, who with South Carolina officers are in vestigating the accident, took Wolfe into custody Sunday even ing to await word from the South Carolina officers. Duffy and S'amuel J. Stevenson, Camp Croft officers, natives of New York State, were up Saturday to buy Tryon Homespun. Sailor Oscar Owens of Bain bridge, Md., arrived during the week-end for a visit.
