Mrs. Thelma Watkins of Belt on, S. C., was the week-end guest of her sister, Mrs. R. H. Brady. The Woman’s Missionary socie ty of the First Baptist church will meet Tuesday at 3:30 p. m., with Mrs. J. W. Taylor. Program will be in charge of Mrs. R. H. Brady. Mrs. Thomas J. Langford and son of Columbia, S. C., are visit ing Mr. and Mrs. Sonny Bruce. Mrs. E. G. Thompson of Mill Spring is a patient at St. Luke’s hospital. v Miss Claudia Helms and Miss Kathleen Andrews have returned hoip* from Woman’s College, isboro. Mrs. Lindsay Taylor has re turned to Columbus after treat ment at St. Luke’s hospital. Mrs. Craig Furr has returned from a visit with Maj. and Mrs. W. C. Ward, Jr., at Arlington, Va., and with other relatives at High Point, N. C. Capt. J. W. Smith, who has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Avant will return to Charlotte on Tuesday. Mrs. M. B. Caldwell leaves on Tuesday to spend the summer with her husband, Lieut. Marcus Cald well, USNR, who is stationed at Quonset Point, R. I. Miss Mary Gamble is spending thpamonth of June in Macon, Ga., wyfjapier sister, Miss Mildred GarSxfle. News has been received in Tryon that Lieut. Olin (Junior) Kuhn, was reported missing in action while piloting a bomber over Europe on May 8th. Lieutenant fuhn, his sister, the former Miss etty Kuhn, and their mother lived in Tryon for several years and since moving away have visited Mrs. E. Pue-Williams and family, a number of times. A son was born to Lieutenant and Mrs. Kuhn on May 11th, three days af ter he was missing in action. The BULLETIN, 6 months $1.50. Mrs- Vernon Dempsey of Tryon is in St. Luke’s hospital for treat ment. Lieut, and Mrs. George E. Thompson (nee Sis Nash) of La Junta, Colorado, Cpl. Marcus Nash of Warrensburg Sedalia, Mo., Army Air Field; and Mrs. Carl Connor of High Point, N. C., are visiting their mother, Mrs. M. L, Nash and other rela tives.
