PHONE NO. 4 LEROY WILLIAMS PASSES Leroy Williams, age 69, retired Tryon merchant passed away at 1 a. m., today after an illness of about two weeks. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p. m., at the residence. Interment in Hendersonville at Oakdale cemetery. Rev. A. W. Barr will officiate. Mr. Williams is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary K. Williams, one! daughter, Mrs. James Littlefield, of Landrum, S. C.; two sons, Burley and Duford Williams of Tryon; three brothers, A. H. Wil liams of Tryon, W. D. Williams, of Hendersonville, Amos Williams of Flat Rock; two sisters, Mrs. John Forrest of Hendersonville and Mrs. Emma Pace of Saluda and seven grandchildren. , The pallbearers will be N. L. Wilson, C. M. Littlefield, Sr., W. W. Creasman, W. Y. Wilkins, Sr., W. B. Lawrence, John McClure. Mr. Williams was a native of Henderson county and came to Tryon in 1910 and operated a grocery business for over 30 years. Mrs. John Washburn and daugh ter, Miss Molly Washburn, and son, John Washburn, leave today to spend the summer in Maine. Mrs. Lester Webb of Columbia, S. C., is the guest of Mrs. Sam Vance.
