The Chicago Motor club j has written the Tryon Chamber of Commerce for 50 descriptive folders. Nina Baker of the Chica go Touring Bureau wants one by first class mail. The Asheville Chamber of Commerce writes for an additional 15 folders. The Tryon Chamber of Commerce and local inns and hotels are making contacts which promise a big season for the community this winter. All persons who have apartments or houses to rent or sell should notify their real estate agents because requests are com ing in to the Chamber of Commerce jtf^hese accommodations. And all ^^■real estate agents who are numbers of the chamber of com merce are sent a list of these inquiries.Spartanburg Herald reports marriage of Adol phus Leg Hill, 22, of Landrum and Edna Halford, 22, of Lynn .... How then can our ____Continued on Back Fage__ BIG BAPTIST MEETING HERE THURSDAY The Tryon First Baptist church will be the scene of a big Baptist program Thursday from 4 p. m., to 9:30 p. m., with an intermis sion for picnic supper from 6:30 to 7:30. Everyone invited to attend and bring a basket of food. It will be a Mission program of the Carolina Baptist Associa tion with Rev. B. G. Henry, pastor of the First Baptist church of Tryon, as host. Other churches taking part in the meeting are Tryon Second Baptist,'Lynn Paco let Baptist, Warrior Mountain, Friendship, Macedonia, Saluda and Mountain Page. The chief speakers will be two returned missionaries, Dr. T. C. Bagley of Brazil who will speak at 5:30 and Dr. H. H. McMillan at 9 p. m. Public invited to all meetings. AT KIWANIS TUESDAY Town Commissioner N. L. Wil son had charge of the Kiwanis program Tuesday and led a dis cussion of civic interests which included the high standards of the business houses such as stores, bank, post office, industries, hotels, real estate agents and general cooperation with OP A. A brief discussion was made about the Curb Market and the need for and abattoir and the production of better beef cattle. Alfred Spurdle, a new member, gave as one of his reasons for making Tryon his home was that it had so many nice things the big cities don’t have.
