SALUDA NEWS Mr. and Mrs. E. J. -Anders and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pace of Hen dersonville were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy L. Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Landis spent this week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Dan Pace. The Rev. Mr. Berkley of New Orleans and family arrived Tues day and are in their home on Columbia Heights. Miss Helen Ashe and mother are guests of Miss Ada Schenck. They are from Wadesboro, N. C. William Morris of “Hundred Year Fire Fame” was taken to St. Luke’s hospital last night. He was struck with a heart attack and is very ill. The Maybank’s property has been sold. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bostick and ..young daughter, June, are spend ing a few days in Richmond, Va. Mrs. John Rhodes has recently heard from her husband, who is in France. Max Rhodes’ wife and son spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Middleton. The following guests are reg istered at Mountain Manor: Mead H. Willis, Winston-Salem; Sam Sells, Stanford, Conn.; Mrs. B. Shaw, Mrs. R. Seigmund, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Edna Sells, Ft. Myers, Fla. The Polk CouAty Agricultural Conservation Association has in storage now, a large supply of Austrian winter peas, to be furn ished to farmers of Polk County as a grant of aid. As you know in the past years we have been greatly handicapped, because we did not get these peas in time to seed them, for them to get a good growth before cold weather came. The County Committee urges every one who would like to get these peas, to get them just as early as you can, so that you can seed them early.
