Price 1$ Mrs. James Jackson Passes Mrs. Ann Wingo Jackson, 83 widow of James Jackson, prom inent Tryon business man, died Wednesday night at her home here. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Wingo of Spartanburg County, S. C. and was born Nov. 12, 1861 in the | mount Ziion section oi opartan ; burg County. She made her home in Tryon for the past 37 years. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Tryon First Baptist church with Rev. B. G. Henry officiating. Of ficers of the church will be the pallbearers. Mrs. Jaskson is survived by the following children: Fred S. Jack son of - Landrum, S. C., J. Ray Jackson of Cliff side, N. C., Mrs. - F. H. Snipes of Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. P. W. Benedict of Arden, Nl C. and' Misses Iris and Alva Jackson of Tryon; also one bro ther, two sister, 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. College President Speaker At Stearns Opening Dr. Eugene J. Coletrane, Presi dent of Brevard Junior College, has accepted an invitation to speak at the opening exercises of Stearns High School, Columbus, at 10 o’clock, Monday, September 18.
