As you see I am in Iran, or Persia. Arriving here a few days ago. LandetLat the port of (censored) whichas at the mouth of the Euphrates and on the Persian gulf. Had quite a long ‘ ocean voyage and saw some mighty interesting places. However, at present, can not give the route covered. This country has much of interest, so will give you what I have learned so far. I am at a camp near Ahwaz, 80 miles north of the Gulf and right in the middle of a desert, and just below Dizful, known as the hot test spot on earth. If its any hotter than here .1 don’t believe it. Remember that old song, “Close the door they are coming through the window, close the window, they are coming through the door”? Well, this D— sand must be what they wrote of. The camp is about 400 miles below Teheran where they say the cli mate is about like our own. -Continued on Book Page__
