PHONE NO. 4 Stage Stars Coming The Camp Croft^ Caravan, a gigantic program of motion pic ture and stage entertainment, will be presented in the interest of the National War Fund drive at Tryon Theater Friday at 8 p. m. The variety show on stage will be presented by troupe headed by Lt. J. Gilbert Hogan. Lt. Hogan is known to West Coast radio and stage audiences as Gilbert Reade having been featured on such ra dio shows as “Grand Jury Inves tigator”, “Big Town” and “Why Do We Believe It”. The master of ceremonies will be the popular Sgt. Bill Wilson, , outstanding tap dancing star who numbers the lovely Joan Leslie of motion pic ture fame among his former dan cing pupils. Also featured in this revue will be Sgt. Lilestrand virtuoso of the violin; Cpl. Bill Judd, popular comedian; Miss Betty Jo Blackwell, petite singer of blues; Pvt. Dean Benet, ace of acrobatics; Pvt. Jimmy LaRoc ca, Camp Croft’s baritone ballad eer; Miss Dottye Blackwell, “Camp Croft’s pin-up girl” and darling of the dance; Pvt. Bill Schweitzer, famous accordionist formerly with NBC’c “Breakfast Club”, and Pvt. Phil Masi, “clown prince of comedy”. The 158th AGF dance band (15 men formerly with name bands), un de direction of T|Sgt. Harry Jones will provide the danceable rhythms. Young Women’s Business cir cle of the Tryon First Baptist church will meet tonight at 8 o’clock. Miss Pearline Parker will be in charge of the program. To those who are in quest of en tertainment for guests, for fam ily or for social organizations, I am offering my services in Shakes pearean readings, in miscellaneous poems, and humorous skits and sketches, also dramatic studies in story telling.
