County News Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Smythe who have been staying some time with Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Kirby, have returned to their home in Winter Garden, Fla. Mrs. Minnie Williams visited Mrs. E. G. Gaither Johnson returned several months ago from the South Pacific where he spent two years fighting to take the Solomon Islands and oth ers, discharged from the army due to ill health. He still has a desire to help his Uncle Sam. The first harbingers of spring are here, they came by mail the first of the month. The lovely, bright colored, seed catalogs, from different companies. And already gardeners are planning bigger and better Victory Gardens for ’45. Gardens just packed with color, sunshine, sweet smells and flavors. Uncle Sam will need more food than ever this year, there will be less for the home front. So the safest way to make sure of eating is to grow as much food as pos sible in our own gardens. Mrs. Alfred H. Rzeppa of Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich., came down last week for a few days at her home, Tri-Branch Farm. Misses Zelda and Juanita Ed wards stopped by our way awhile one Sunday recently.
