In renewing her sub _^Continued on Back Page ■ WITH OUR ARMED FORGES Fred Hutchinson, formerly of Try on, who married Miss Estelle Brownlee, also of Tryon, has been promoted according to the article from the Hendersonville Times News: A U. S. Troop Carrier Base, European theatre of operation.— Master Sergeant Fred J. Hutchin son of Hendersonville, flight chief in a squadron of Major-General Paul L. Williams’ U. S. troop car rier forces, was recently promot ed from technical sergeant to the grade of master sergeant. Hutchinson is the son of Mrs. Roxie Rutchinson of Druid Hills apartments, Hendersonville, and his wife, Mrs. Daisy Estelle Hutchinson, resides in Swannanoa. In charge of a number of his unit’s big C-47 planes and ground crews, Hutchinson supervises ma jor repairs, regular maintenance and routine inspections of the air craft. Overseas 19 months he was formerly an aerial engineer in which capacity he earned the air medal for participating in the in vasion of Sicily when his squadron hauled paratroopers to the scene of action. He served in North Africa, Sicily and Italy prior to ar riving in the European theatre, where his unit, the 61st troop car rier group, veteran overseas or ganization of invasion airborne campaigns, took part in the open —_Continued on Back Page
