WALGREEN AGENCY The month of March is the month for the War Fund Cam paign of the American Red Cross, the “minimum goal” for the na tion is $200,000,000.00. The Polk County Chapter has been assign ed a minimum goal of $7,500. This does not bean $7,500 is all that the citizens of Polk County are go ing to give to the Red Cross. Polk County never fails to “go1 over the top” when the Red Cross asks for support. During the years of the war, the Red Cross has inti mately touched almost every home in the county. There is hardly a person among us who has not had reason to thank the organization which stands by our boys and girls in the service, and stands by us when we are in need. Garments, surgical dressings,, kit-bags and a host of other things have been sent to the front from Polk County. Now we are asked to send money. That money will help the Red Cross workers all over the world who are bringing comfort and cheer to our fighting men; it will help to pay for the comforts which only the Red Cross furnish es; it will help support the con stant service which the Red Cross renders to parents and children of service men and women back home. The American people do not need argument to convince them that the Red Cross does its job, and does it well. Now it is up to us to furnish some of the “sinews of war.” The names of those who will solicit gifts were published in the Bulletin last week. Make it easy for them by being ready when they call.—Contributed. ' Every news item you send to the Bulletin helps to make a more interesting letter to some friend in the armed forces.
