Rotary Officers Elected New officers for the Tryon Ro tary club elected for the term be ginning July 1, 1945 to July 1, 1946, are R. Ben White, presi dent; Leslie K. Singley, vice-presi dent; George W. Whitehead, secre tary-treasurer. Freed From Germans Miss Gladys Hamrick has re ceived the news of her brother’s liberation from a German prison camp. Pvt. Sam Hamrick, who is from Kings Mountain, has been in a German prison for several months. The family had received letters from him regularly until sometime in February when the Red Cross notified them that he was in a German prison in the Alps. Cpl. M. P. “Dutch” Andrews, Jr., of Camp Shanks, N. Y., is on fur lough to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Andrews, and fam iy in Tryon and with his wife in Hendersonville. Patients dismissed Friday from St. Luke’s hospital were Miss Bell Jones, of Lynn; Mrs. Mary Ward, Saluda Route One. Those admitted Friday were Mrs. Winifred Mac lay, Mrs. Maude Brand, Miss Diana Nash, al lof Tryon. Miss Gladys Flynn of Landrum. HOSPITAL DONORS: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Anderson, A<sP Tea Co.
