C., May 20 —Rutherford Dairies, Inc., is the title of a new industry for this county which will open, early this fall and employ 15 or more people. It will be located in East Spindale. Authorized capital is $40,000, with $5,000 paid in by Gordon Moore, James Moss, J. J. Hamlin, R. M. Morris and William Car penter. It will be a milk pasteur izing plant—first of its kind in this county. The purpose will be to buy raw milk from the farmers and serve the county with milk and other dairy products. The new plant will be equipped to handle one thousand gallons of milk daily. Officers are W. T. Car penter, president; James Moss, vice-pi’esident; J. J. Hamlin, sec retary-treasurer. The,officers with Mr. Moore and Mr. Morris will be directors. Lieut, (j.g.) R. S. DuRant and friend, Lieut. 0. C. Bailey of Rock fort, Texas, made a “flying” visit to Try on Saturday in two Navy F6F Hellcat planes. They left Norfolk, Va., at 1 p. m., and were over Tryon at 2:25. They landed at Spartanburg airport. Lieut. DuRant visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. S. DuRant. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph W. Broome, from Spartanburg, S. C., have moved into the R. T. Brooks house in Gillette Woods, which was re cently occupied by the Victor Montgomerys. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Worthing ton are moving to Waynesville where Mr. Worthington has been transferred by the Southern Rail way. He has been at the Landrum depot since his transfer from Tryon, but has continued to make his home here Mr. and Mrs Worthington’s son, Jack, of the U. S. Navy, is expected home on leave today.
