MRS. HILL AT KIWANIS _Continued from■ Pz?* One dangerous missions. A lot has been done by the county for the rest center at Lake Lure, the Navy center at Kenilworth and Mbore General Hospital, as well as other places. Detailed reports of the work this committee has done is published from time to time, and Mrs. Hill has made talks over the radio which has brought generous responses from people in both of the Carolinas. R. O. Andrews, who is on the Kiwanis committee for the rehabilitation of returned service men, had charge of the program. The Y. 0. T.’s (Youth of Tryon) will meet at 7 p. m., Sunday at the Methodist church. Plans will be made for another outing and for work upon a town project. Dr. Bethea will show some of his per sonal movies. All young people are invited to participate. HEALTH DEPT. REPORT Attendance at clinics was as fol lows: Mill Spring 28 patients; St. Luke’s hospital 5; Saluda 35; Columbus 78. Mrs. Pearl Public HeaAh Nurse, took her annual vacation during the month. On May 15, the Health Officer at tended a conference at the Rapid Treatment Center in Charlotte. On the 16th, Dr. Eva Dodge, ob stetrician of the Federal Children’s Bureau, conducted a Seminar for the doctors of the Rutherford Polk District at the Rutherford hospital. Dr. R. E. Fox and Mrs. L. P. East, of the State Board of Health, visited the Health De partment during the month. The Sanitary Inspector reports the completion of 5 new septic tank sewage disposal plants and 21 sanitary privies; and 34 visits were made to private premises to correct nuisances. Milk analyses were carried out on the products of all Grade “A” dairies and in spections were made of all these dairies, as well as of markets and cafes. Miss K. D. Hamilton is leaving Thursday to spend the summer at Linville, N. C. Robert F. Andrews, Jr., wife, and baby son, R. F. Andrews, III, from Albany, N. Y., are visiting Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Andrews for a week. Pfc. Seth M. Vining, Jr., re ports back to Fort Bragg today, and Miss Elizabeth Anne Vining returns to Duke university. Mrs. K. A. Bowen and daugh ters, Ann and Barry, are spend ing a week in, Hendersonville. Mrs. C. D. Stoudenmire and son, Dan, of Darlington, S. C., and Mrs. J. A. Easterling of Kannap olis, N.
