TRYON SCHOOL HAS
LARGEST ENROLLMENT
Tryon Elementary School has
the largest enrollment in history,
421 pupils. The High School on
account of the change from 11 to
12 grades has only 75 pupils, mak
ing a total of nearly 500 students.
NURSERY SCHOOL TO
OPEN SEPTEMBER 14
The Nursery and Kindergarten
to be operated in the Sunday
school rooms of the Tryon First
JSaejtist church will start Septem
Cl) 14th at 9 a. m., with Mrs.
b.* G. Henry head of the kinder
garten and Miss Maysie Earle in
charge of the nursery. Miss Earle
operated a nursery for years at
St. Petersburg, Florida.
BELL AT ROTARY TODAY
Frank Bell, owner of the boys’
camp, Mondamin, on Lake Sum
mit, and also operator of the girls’
camp, Rockbrook, near Brevard,
will be the guest speaker at Tryon
Rotary club today. Earl T. Farley
is in charge of the program.
MASONS MEET MONDAY
The Jeff L. Nelson Masonic
Lodge will meet Monday night at
8 o’clock at the lodge hall in
Tryon.

About Your Dog
WHERE AS, the threat of rabies
constitutes a menace to the health
of the residents of Tryon, and it
has become necessary to enforce
all ordinances regarding dogs in
the Town of Tryon to the end that
said dogs may be controlled, kept
account of, and inoculated:
NOW THEREFORE, the Com
missioners of the Town of Tryon
do ordain:
Section One: that all ordinances
now effective in the Town of Try
on regarding the regulation of
dogs be enforced.
Section Two: That the owners
of all dogs in the Town of Tryon
be and they are hereby required
to obtain a license for said dogs,
and the fees for said license shall
be $2.00 for open females and
$1.00 for all other dogs.
Section Three: Tha£ the^wners
of all dogs in the Towrr of Tryon
are required to 14|eep said dogs
up and to prevent all dogs from

owners, or -others* for a period of

ers of all dogs are required to have
said dogs inoculated against rabies
unless the dog shall have been
inoculated within one year.
Section Four: All dogs in the
Town of Tryon running loose dur
ing the aforesaid fifteen-day per
iod, or found after said fiteen
day period without evidence of
having the license above provided
for paid, or without evidence of
having been inoculated, shall be
impounded and kept for twenty
