MASONS MEET TONIGHT Jeff L. Nelson Masonic Lodge will be host today to the 38th M'asonic District meeting. The Lodge will open at 7 p. m., and close around 10:30 after which re freshments and a fellowship period will be enjoyed. Visiting Masons invited. J. A. Wilson is worshipful master and R. H. Brady, secretary of the local lodge. The Naval Air Separation Cen ter at Memphis, Tenn., reports that Richard Stough DuRant, Lt. (j.g.) A-l USNR, has been return ed to civilain life. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Siler DuRant of Try on, N. C., and husband of Virginia Dare (Meares) DuRant of Lumberton, N. C. He had 40 months service in the Navy; had 15 months shore duty at Athens, Anacostia, Pensacola, Miami, and Chicago; 25 months sea duty with Fighting Squadron 28. He has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. He took part in all of the engagements of the Third and Fifth Fleets from May, 1944, to January 1945.
