SALUDA NEWS Miss Flora Bell will attend the Presbyterian College at Black Mountain this winter. Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Elmore have returned to their home in Spin dale. Mr. Elmore’s grand voice contributed much to the music at the Episcopal church this summer. Mr. and Mrs. E. T. H. Shaffer have returned to Walterboro, S. C. after spending the summer at ‘their pleasant home in Saluda. Rev. W. S. Stoney and Mrs. Stoney of Anniston, Ala. will be JA^Happy Hut for a few days, ^wiving in Saluda on Monday. Mrs. John Kohn and daughter, Miss Mary Virginia Kohn re turned to their home in Montgom ery, Ala. on Monday. There will_be a celebration of the Holy Communion at the Epis copal church on Sunday, Oct. 21, Rev. Allen Clarkson, officiating. It is desirable that as many mem bers as possible attend this ser vice as it may not be possible to have service at the church again for some time. The Saluda Drug Sundries has been bought by J. C. Crawford of Deland, Fla. Mr. Crawford is a brother of Mrs. John Taylor who recently bought the Jones house on Greenville street. ' The Mason Real Estate business be moved from the drug store lyKhe office over the post office, where it was formerly located. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Crawford will rent the Misses’ Pace cottage on Greenville street. Mr. C. W. Mason is at Amarillo, Texas for a short stay on his trip to California. There will be a P. T. A. meet ing at the Saluda School on Thurs day afternoon at 3 o’clock. Mrs. Wm. Sternau who is a nurse at Westside Hospital in New York City is the guest of her aunts, the Misses Addy and Lillian Heriot at their home in Saluda. Mrs. C. A. Morrison and Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Morrison will be at the Morrison cottage on Columbia Heights. They are travelling South from their home in Buffalo, N. Y. Guests at Ivy Terrace with Mrs. L, L. Clippard are Dr. Clara Pierce, Miss Edith Kasson, Miss Agnes Martin, Miss Dorothea Jemmison all of Syracuse, N. Y. and Miss Vivian Stronigan of On eonta, N;. Y. Staff Sgt. B. H. Thompson, his wife and their son, Pvt. W. L. Thompson, visited Mrs. Thomp son’s mother at Harlan, Ky. last Week. Pvt. Thompson returned to Camp Greater Pittsburgh Air port on Tuesday. Dan Robertson, son of Mr. and Mjrs. John Robertson, is at his home on 90 days furlough. He has received his discharge from the Army, but will re-enlist. Jim and Bud Seay, sons of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Seay, have re ceived their discharge from the Army. Bud expects to re-enlist. Spurgeon Arledge, Jr. is home on leave from the Navy. Gordon Barbour, RM 2|c is at U. S. Naval Hospital, Mare Isl and, Valley, Calif.
