Several Hundred At Freezer Locker Opening “Nothing could mean ,so much in the life of the citizens of a community as the opening of a frozen food locker plant,” Miss Nita Orr, frozen food expert ox Bristol, Tenn., declared Saturday before several hundred patrons as sembled to see the opening of a new locker and warehouse of the Farmers Federation at Tryon. The locker plant, scheduled to open earlier, „ burned before its completion two months ago. Re building of the locker plant and warehouse was rushed to accom modate the people who had raised hogs - and cattle especially for locker storage. Miss Orr explained that through the use of frozen food facilities it will be possible to have fresh strawberries and other foods at any time of the year. “By use of the new pressure sauce pans the cooking time for preparation of foods for locker storage is cut to a minimum,” Miss Orr said. Miss Orr gave general rules for good freezer storage of foods. She recommended > that patrons continue to put in' and take out their foods, providing “turnover” of the foods in the lockers every several months.
