David Low, the New Zealand born cartoonist, created “Colonel Blimp” somewhere about 1930, and that now famous person has appeared in Lord Beaverbrook’s Lbndon Standard ever since. The picture which will be shown at the Tryon Theater at 9 o’clock on Tuesday night, Dec. 13th, tells how Colonel Blimp won the Vic toria Cross in the South African war, and sees him through all subsequent wars. Each time war gets less glamorous, and the sa tire on army life and martial glory more pungent. All the pro ceeds of the Tryon showing of Colonel Blimp will go, through the United War Fundr to the re lief of starving, homeless people in Europe. Tickets will be on sale on Tues day morning, Dec. 4, at Missil dine’s, Owen’s arid the Tryon Theatre. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts will also sell tickets.
