for one hour Friday afternoon
through courtesy of the town
officials who gave their time and
interest to help educate the young
Scouts in the responsibilities of

Joel Derby took charge and the
first person brought to him for

charged with irregular parking.

his annual contribution to the Boy
Scout Financial Campaign. The

Claude Smith was caught giving
out erroneous information and he
was fined $5 . . . . The 3rd and
4th grade singers of Stearns
school will pnt on the program

day at 1 p. m. at Oak Hall hotel.

Tryon Postmaster Exams
To Be Held Here Soon
Civil Service Secretary George
D. Cooksey has received notice that
applications for the postmastership
at Tryon may be made anytime be
tween now and March 25. Blanks
and information concerning the
job can be obtained from Mr.
Cooksey.
The office now has a base pay
of $3,300 and is being filled tem
porarily by Acting Postmaster G.
Isham Henderson, who succeeded
R. 0. Andrews when he resigned.
