The American Le gion is sponsoring at Community Center at Rutherfordton . . , Try Sieatre has been making some interior improvements. At ve draperies hang in front of the screen and varied colored lights reflect a million tiny stars. When the movies begin the draper ies are pulled aside automatically. Another addition to the comfort of the patrons is the installation of a ceiling exhaust fan to take out any stale air without creating a draft . . . Among those stating that they are willing to pay $10 for Mrs. Patton’s Polk County History in book form are an ar chitect, hotel man, army officer, realtor, newspaper man, doctor. The Henderson history will cost about $1,500 for 500 copies. Those ____Continued on Back Page— POLISH DIPLOMAT HERE Mr. and Mrs. Michal Kwapiszew ski were in Tryon today to visit Prince and Princess. S. Czetwertyn ski. Mr. Kwapiszewski was form erly minister plenipotentiary coun selor of the embassy of Poland in Washington. He worked with the late Paderewski and Woodrow Wilson in forming the Polish Re public. Mr. and Mrs. Kwapiszew ski were enroute to Greensboro, Georgia for a visit. On account of a change in Polish governments since the war the Kwapsizewskis will remain in this country. Eaton Funeral Saturday Funeral services for Mrs. M. P. Eaton will be held Saturday at 3 p. m. at the Pentecostal Holi ness Church with the Rev. M. J. Ross and the Rev. Mr. Mforrow if Inman, officiating. POLK COUNTY HISTORY By Sadie S. Patton (CHIAP. XX) The names associated with the laying off and establishing of streets and public lots in Columbus, taken with the early jury lists, pro vide a fair index of the early fami lies who lived within the area of Polk County.
