Gold, of Rutherfordton were visitors in Polk County Thursday (W, Friday. They were guests '\%phrsday night at Melrose Lodge. Major Bulwinkle was making a hurried trip in the interest of the Democratic party at the request of party leaders. He visited Monroe Redden in Hendersonville, Polk County Chairman H. G. Laughter in Saluda and others in Tryon, Columbus and Mill Spring enroute to his home in Gastonia. The congressman said the newspaper headline writers made things look worse than they really were es pecially in regard to Russia. He said that if one would analyse the full text of the news stories that they would not be as the head lines make them. Andersons To Build Home Mr. and Mrs. Joe Anderson have bought a building site in Gillette Woods in Glen Walden section, from' W. M. Hester. They plan to build a home as soon as conditions permit.
