The Bulletin:
I am a Northerner and a Repub
lican, but I take my voting very
seriously, and I intend to vote for
Mr. Bulwinkle and Sheriff W. D.
Hines. I have kept track of our
Washington congressman's voting
record and it is excellent. All the
name calling in the world won’t
alter that.
As for Sheriff Hines, my knowl
edge of him is personal. 1/ live out
in Tryon's Hunting JCountry .✓dnd
have had personal cxperiejrte of
his efficiency and dourtesj^ Once,
when there was a /hurdeP at Mrs.
Tracy’s place opposite^ ours, Mr.
Hines was out he/e within twenty
minutes amenr being called,
^■though it was/past midnight.
Twice when Sunday drunken driv
ers came int</Mrs. Felicia Cal
houn’s place Mr. Hines arrived and
sent them away without any trouble
to us.
When Mrs. Calhoun was killed
and I was injured in a motor
accident two y^ars ago, nothing
could have exceeded the sheriff’s
kindness and consideration. We
have come to regard him as an
old and valued friend, and a real
asset to our comipunity.
It is men of his type that make
Tryon what it is.
Sincerely yours,
Eleanor Trowbrige.
(Mrs. J. R. Trowbridge).
