The reception is being giv en by the Hendersonville Woman’s Club. Impressive formal ceremonies accepting the book were held this morning at the court house at which time The County Commis sioners accepted for the county; Mayor A. V. Edwards accepted for the City of Hendersonville; and addresses were made by visit ing speakers. A copy of the Henderson County book is at the Bulletin office. It is attractively printed and bound and contains a lot of local histori cal information that would have been lost had not Mrs. Patton given her service to preserve it for posterity. She* is also the author of the historical sketches of Polk County which appeared in the Bulletin from time to time. The desire to have these sketches put in book form has been ex pressed by a large number of people who have offered from 5 to 10 dollars toward the printing of them. The public is invited to the Bulletin office to see the Hen derson County book and leave order for a Polk County book. Mrs. Patton’s Henderson book has re ceived the highest praise from Asheville and Spartanburg editors.
